Sara Caroppo, M.Sc

I am a Counseling Psychologist specialized in working with children and adolescents aged 3-18. Originally from Italy, I trained and practiced in the UK for several years before moving to Dubai in 2018. Over the years, I have collaborated closely with international schools in this region, gaining a deep understanding of the challenges young people face in this dynamic environment. My commitment lies in supporting the mental wellbeing of children and fostering their healthy development in diverse cultural contexts.

My practice is largely informed by CBT and the Systemic approach, and I believe that a child's development is intricately tied to the environment provided by their family and the quality of the relationships within it. In my therapeutic approach, I embrace an "ecological" perspective, recognizing that the environement a child experiences affects their overall growth and development.  By exploring family dynamics and surrounding circumstances, I aim to identify what factors influence the child's behavior and emotional responses. This holistic understanding allows for a comprehensive exploration of the root causes behind any challenges a child may face, allowing me to tailor interventions that address not only the individual child but also the broader family, school, social environment.

My Philosophy

A young person's identity is in constant development, shaped by life experiences and significant relationships. Hence, alongside the individual work with children, I also support families and assist schools in creating a nurturing environment that promotes a growth mindset so that the child is supported in their journey of individual flourishment and academic achievement comprehensively. I work closely with parents to empower them to support their children.
