Moni Ramlawy

Moni Ramlawy, MA

I am a Licensed Counseling Psychologist with over 11 years of experience supporting individuals and couples as they navigate life’s emotional challenges. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy, as well as working with anxiety, depression, grief, and relational issues.

In my practice, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an attachment-based approach that helps individuals and couples recognize emotional patterns, build stronger connections, and find deeper emotional balance. I also integrate principles from humanistic therapy and neuroscience to support my clients in managing difficult emotions and reshaping automatic responses developed in unsafe or challenging environments.

In addition to my work as a counseling psychologist, I am a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator. I offer parent consultations to support caregivers in navigating the challenges of parenting, helping them foster healthier, more connected relationships with their children.

Parenting can often feel overwhelming, particularly when managing intense emotions, behavioral challenges, or communication struggles within the family. In my consultations, I provide practical tools and strategies that align with Positive Discipline principles, focusing on:

  • Understanding children’s emotional needs and behaviors.
  • Building respectful communication to create a collaborative parent-child relationship.
  • Managing intense emotions, such as anger, frustration, or anxiety, both for the parent and child.
  • Setting clear boundaries with kindness and firmness.
  • Implementing effective discipline strategies without resorting to punishment.
  • Fostering emotional resilience, self-discipline, and responsibility in children.

Whether you are dealing with tantrums, sibling rivalry, adolescent struggles, or simply want to improve your family dynamic, my role is to empower you with the tools to navigate parenting with confidence, compassion, and clarity.

My Philosophy

My work is grounded in fostering a safe and compassionate space where clients can explore their experiences, understand their triggers, and develop healthier ways to respond to life’s difficulties. Whether working with individuals or couples, I strive to guide my clients toward building authentic relationships and developing greater self-awareness and emotional resilience.
